Even further studies go to show that red wine is able to raise HDL cholesterol, which is the good type of cholesterol in your body.

Red wine is also thought to be able to help blood clots from forming, and to reduce the blood vessel damage caused by fat deposits.

There are a number of different reasons as to why the red selections of wine are so healthy, namely because it is a rich source of antioxidants flavonoid phenolics, and also contains resveratrol, which is found in grape skins and seeds, and this is the main ingredient which increases HDL cholesterol and reduces blood clotting.

However you need to realize that just because a sensible amount of wine is healthy for you, this certainly does not mean that you should start drinking as much as possible. You can easily overdo it, as only a glass of red wine a day is recommended in order to achieve any sort of health benefits.
