Bring The Right Wine Glasses to a Wine Party

Presentation is integral to a fine wine serving occasion and serving wine in quality wine glasses is a huge piece of the presentation puzzle. There are some simple rules for helping you become a quality wine server at your home which will help you become one of the more popular people on your block, for certain.

Hosting a wine party is a great way to meet and greet the neighbors or entertain family, so learning how to host one properly and with flair can increase the value of the overall experience for your attendees.

The first thing to remember about wine is that there is no right or wrong; it is all about personal taste and wine can be a very personal matter for some people. For this reason, serve a variety of wines of all types: red, white, rose, and champagne.

One terrific idea for wine parties is to have your party guests bring their own wines from around the world. Invite a few couples, usually around six to eight people total, and have each pair bring a bottle of wine that doesnĄ¯t cost too much and is somewhat adventurous.

Some basic guidelines include having the wine cost around ten to fifteen dollars a bottle, coming from France Italy or Chile, and having a certain grape type that is preferential to your guests.

There are basic tips for preparing your wine glasses to your wine bottles and having adequate glasses for each bottle. For a regular wine bottle containing around 750ml of wine, you should have four or five wine glasses.

For sparkling wine or champagne, about eight champagne flute-style glasses should be used. For a bottle of port, there should be about ten port glasses. These simple guidelines will help prevent the ultimate wine party disaster of not having enough wine glasses for the occasion.

Serving it Right

An important facet to serving wine properly is knowing what food to serve it with. A quick way to remember is to have a look at the origin country of the wine; you can generally assert that if a wine is from Italy, a generous Italian meal would work with it.

Furthermore, follow color hints: if you use a red wine, serve a dish with a red sauce, and so on. If there is no sauce on the dish, match the color of the wine with the color of the meat or vegetable on the dish. You may have to go with a simple dark to light comparison with this at times.

When all else fails and you are still uncertain on the best pairings for your wine, talk to a wine specialist. They will often give tips on how to serve the wine, what to serve it with, what wine glasses to use in serving, and so on.

There are often several different options to go with in terms of wine consumption, so do not be afraid to experiment with combinations and discover new tastes through trial and error. A good idea would probably be to save the experimentation until after the wine party, though.
